Ha! Now this is something to think about next time you (and I) post on FB Or Twitter how much of a blast we're having in Vegas...

So in the midst of me completing my piece from A3C...editing video as we speak, my Mother brought this to my attention. This is very interesting, and I've always said that everyone doesn't need to know your every move on social networks... and that Facebook, Twitter, and the new Checking In App, allows entirely too much access for strangers and familiar faces alike, especially with that whole "Uber Twitter" thing that gives your locale... geez, if I still had that stalker..I would be SOL...also check out this website hilariously, but truthfully entitled: http://www.pleaserobme.com/ .

Night Owls Anonymous...

Monday is upon me and I'm a wreck yet again...but a good wreck...if there is a such thing...As you may or may not have known the BET Hip Hop Awards were here this past weekend, and I wish I could tell you "I was all up in that"...but the truth of the matter is, I wasn't. Although, I was promised a ticket and everything...blah blah blah, ATL media really got sh**ed on with their presence, so yeah I was definitely sleeping most of day on Saturday, missed the BET Pre party with Sean Garrett...I won't lie, I was tired and beat from the night before at the Interscope and Belvedere 's

shin-dig and Clark Atlanta's Alumni Party. You know sometimes I think that I may be a lousy journalist when it comes to this stuff, because I'm not a party animal or anything, (people really don't believe it when I tell them I hate being in the streets, cause' when I'm in my six inch stilettos, I'm really wishing I was in my glow-in-the dark toe socks.)...but then I remember I have two featured articles in Street Report's magazine with Big Boi and Dereck J for October and November, and then I don't feel so bad. :)

Speaking of which, while I was at the Interscope party at Ventana's, a beautiful, breathtaking venue I might add, Ventana's is Italian for "windows" and that's all you see when you get to the high rise spot, and a rooftop set up that will make anyone feel like someone.

Anyways, I got a interview with Lloyd ( "Get it shawty", "Lay it down", although I already know him), Nate Walker ( co-wrote Jamie Foxx's "Blame It", who put me on to my new fav hangout spot for Saturday's..Noni's), and Kenny Johnson A&R for Interscope Records. It was cool even had my brother up in the spot with me.

Terrance and Rocsi came thru, chatted with Terrance a little before they were whisked away to the CAU party. It was really a lot going on that night and traffic was crazy...I even kicked it with my boss a little...trying to see if I could slide a raise into the convo...it got me $50 extra, so I GUESS it worked...

Shantell from Young Money and her Chanel shoes...I'll be honest they were more important to me than her...LOL WHATTTTTT!?

Comedian Alex Thomas (right), cool dude and that's my bro Chris on the left...I swore these two knew each other the way they were chatting it up...I was in the middle of saying something in this pic...I look weird LOL

So that sums up my weekend... got to submit this write up to my editor and I have another studio session with Skot tonight, he sent me a crazy headbanger track that I can't wait lay down! All I can say is man LIVE.LOVE.LIFE.

Little Ms. Busy "B"

Yeah...guilty as charged I've been sooooo busy it doesn't make any sense! I knew once I picked up doing journalism again that my blog would be like a step child to me *sigh* I didn't mean for it to happen that way, but I've been bringing the sun up for the last 4 weeks now covering various events in ATL (which I'll get to momentarily)  and I'm beat...anytime I do have time to myself...I sleep...and not regular sleep...like coma sleep...like blazing and having crazy sex then passing out sleep...like downing 3 Long islands and...well you get the idea...

RECAP:
I test drove the 2011 Porsche Cayenne at the Porsche Dance at Dusk event, exchange info w/ two super producers there...not really into dropping names like that...just know they're significant :)

I went salsa dancing at Havanna Club, had a blast and the next day I wanted a whole new pair of feet because I thought I was on Dancing with the Stars.

Went the Res concert who is an incredible singer from some time ago and she finally dropped her second album Black.Girls.Rock. (check her out here), did the interview after the show, mind you this was after leaving the Porsche event, my hair was too through!

Interviewed Zo! from the Justice League, which was really cool, went to the listening party, but was late so me and my cuzo Jon-Jon walked around Little 5 points for a bit, met the owner of a tattoo shop who wouldn't mind working w/ us on a tattoo party...more about that later..and of course you're invited :)

From there went to a get together at the Eyedrum in the art district and saw some incredible pieces of work.

... and then to Luckie Lounge for another friend of friend's B-day celebration...by the end of the night I lost that friend because he's insecure...long story thing is we were'nt even dating, but then gained a new one :)

Yeah so the guy is mixing a shot called Liquid Nitrogen....yeah...so of course I had to get one...

It was sweet and very potent...I was hesitant at first...cause' I mean c'mon...there's smoke coming from it!

Needless to say I had a good time :)....

Had a photoshoot with a couple of associates for http://www.stylesbyteri.com/ for their hair and makeup portfolios...which was fun! I was told to be a sexy, edgy , lesbian...yeah not sure if I pulled that one off but this is what I came up with lol

Caught a cold from my niece...kids and their freakin elementary school germs....ewwww!

I interviewed Derek J ('Hair Battle Spectacular, Good Hair, Real Housewives of ATL...you know the short guy in heels)...he'a a total sweetheart..which reminds me I need to make my hair appointment with him, since he did tell me to bring my butt on down there...and I shall do what I'm told.

Broke the handle on my Louis Vuitton...ughhh

Went to Compound on Friday night, VIP style and was like 3 couches down from Wale...yes Wale, and I'm such a goof ball that I gave 4 of my friends access that I forgot to give myself, so while my guests were meeting him I was stuck with the sercurity guard whose pleasure was my pain...we made ammends by the end of the night though. Can't find the pics for this, the one night I forgot my camera ...which really blows cause' no one could tell me and my girl nothing (in my Kanye voice)

Let's see what else...oh yeah this past weekend was the Atlanta Classics, FAMU and TSU game, so I had friends come up from Tallahassee, as well as an ex *sigh* I do love my Trey, he was like my 2nd love lol
Hit the game up on Saturday, where FAMU lost for the first time in seven years, so that was a bummer...and then got a ticket..jerks...

From the box :)

In all this I managed to make an appointnment with SESAC on Oct. 8th for them to finally hear my work, and I feel pretty good about it, I will be in the studio this week working on that with producer Skot Free (Stankonia),I forsee that being a very fruitful friendship.

I still have interviews to extract and videos to edit....LAWD!

And my editor just texted me asking my availability for this week since the BET Hip Hop Awards are going to be in town...does anyone have a couple of 5 hour energy's? I think I'm going to need some...oh and a hug...

Thank you God for keeping me busy...

check out the rest of my pics here:

The Highlights, The Lowlights, and the ISH we won't remember from the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards

The Highlights

Lady Gaga took home 8 of her 13 nominations, including Video of the Year, proving that her hype isn’t just some fly by night stroke of luck…although her attire would say otherwise (hence the “meat” get up), but you know how the world is…the weirder the better, but the thing about Gaga is that she’s an actual talent, which she proved by singing/shameless plugging her upcoming album “Born this way”…and I honestly think that there is some truth to her logic.

Taylor Swift-Everyone was so hung up on last year’s fiasco between Kanye and Taylor Swift, when in actuality, I think it was publicity stunt…but hey that’s just me, I am a self proclaim conspiracy theorist on special occasions, but Taylor gave a great performance singing “Innocent” , sounding as though she was sympathizes with Mr. West…"Thirty-two and still growing up now; who you are is not what you did," she sang softly, adding: "You're still an innocent." Awwwww

Kanye West Performance- I don’t care how many times Kanye gets diarrhea of the mouth, I still manage to fall in love with him all over again with his lyrical linguistics. MTV was right to save the best for last otherwise I would’ve turned back to the Redskins game long time ago. West’s red suit set off the stage as he sang his new song “Runaway” that goes a something like….
“Let’s have a toast for the douche bags,
let’s have a toast for the assholes,
let’s have a toast for the scumbags,
every one of them that I know
let’s have a toast to the jerk offs….

*sigh of relief* I’m so glad our Kanye is coming back to us :) Message to Kanye: Don’t be so hard on yourself kiddo, without you being a realist and saying the ish that we think all the time…what voice would we really have?

Cher- presented the Video of the Year in the same outfit she wore in her music video “If I could turn back the hands of time’’ in 1989, you know the one that got banned from MTV with the battleship and all, yeah that one, and we all know what she meant by wearing that outfit… “ You bitches aren’t the first to do this ish ok?”; but either way Cher looked fantastic! What is she like 72!? She must have the fountain of youth in her back yard. :)

Linkin Park Performance- at the Griffith Observatory …damn it I love these guys! And this had to have been like the best ambiance for a show….outside while the sun was just setting, up on one of the highest hills in L.A., it was f-ing beautiful! The band performed their new song “The Catalyst” from their forth coming album entitled ‘A Thousand Suns”.

My interview w/ Big Boi during the Heineken Inspire Tour...Music.Recognition.Respect. And oh yeah free beer!

September 4, 2010 was a great day for me...why you ask? Well because Jermaine Dupri and DJ Trauma showed what real dj-ing really is (to all you dj's with the turntable front and just use an Mac book Pro), I got to see Goodie Mob, Bun B, and Big Boi perform, and speaking of Sir Lucious Left Foot, I got an interview with the Southern Royalty as we chatted about how the radio sucks, his current tour, and the work he's already putting in on his follow up album Daddy Fat Sax: Soul Funk Crusader.  Read More...

Moet Rose' Lounge Presents Ne-Yo's "Champagne Life Celebration" for his new album Libra Scale

I went to the Ne-Yo's listening party for his forth studio album entitled Libra Scale the other night (Sept. 1, 2010) at MF Sushi in Buckhead....besides it being one of the most unorganized events I've ever covered, and him being escorted out as my photographer Jay Wiggs and I were about to walk into the media room for our 1 on 1...you know what, I won't lie, there really wasn't an upside lol...that's just the screw side of the biz...
But dont get wrong, I'm a huge fan of Ne-Yo's work, I mean "Champagne Life" is getting all kinds of spins on the radio and I can guarantee that I'll be two stepping whenever it comes on, like most of his tracks. But not only does this album have some bangers on it, but it also visually follows a story plot in six extended music videos...Read more...

This is what my brain looks like when I'm brainstorming...

Soooo alot has been going on with the kid, I've been getting tracks left and right, one in which I'm super excited about because if I come hard lyrically like I know I can, it can mean something major for me...so actively working on that. I've been getting emails from other publications (The Goods Mag and Street Report), been to Jacksonville and back on some red eye ish without telling anyone for a much needed meeting of the minds, and geez just being in the right places at the right time lol

What I'm learning is that I can't say yes to everything though, I'm going to burn myself out. I used to think that I was this super woman with a cape that could do any and everything, which proved to be my kryptonite, not the kush,  because I hadn't mastered the art of time management.

And speaking of which, I have to wrap this up because I have to be a my girlfriends house in an hour to do here makeup for her photoshoot...yes I'm a guru at makeup application...I'm truly a Jackie of all trades, but without time management...I'm just Jackie...and that just sounds so blah...

Road To 8 Mile MC Battle-Atlanta

I had a blast at the Road to 8 Mile MC Battle, courtesy of Redbull and Emimnem, hosted by D.R.E.S tha Beatnik, whom can put both Dougie Fresh and Razall to shame in the beat-boxing department hands down! The judging was done by DJ Don Cannon, Bun B, and ManChild...and they meant business...read more

New Music from Andre 3000 "I Do" What cha think?

New music from the incomparable Andre 3000, and long awaited I might add. I heard it last night on Hip Hop 10 XM radio and was blown away, like a legend had step back into the room or something; it's entitled "I Do",and if you're like me, then you've been waiting for 3 stacks to grace us with his signature sick flow for some time now, and he never disappoints. I actually like to think he was talking about me in this song "nothings more attractive than a heavy praying woman..." "we'll call her Love 22,she'll tote a 22"...hey a girl can dream...check it out!

In lieu of Wyclef Jean running for President of Haiti... I thought this was appropriate...see how things are spoken into existence

I'm working man! :)

For some reason I couldn't upload this video into the music section of my blog...where it's supposed to be, but anyways this is a snippett of a session with Sommer Melody, a current Universal artist that is recording one of my songs for my SESAC demo entitled "Lose Control". Her voice is so light and beautiful, I thought it would be great for this song and the beat was done by Grammy nominated producer Tai Rotan who you also see in the video...I call this the "Beginnings" :)

I layed this down as well with my brother's friend Alto. It's a Hustle and Flow set up lol, but whatever works man...I'll record just about anywhere lol...The track, although you can't hear it, was done by my homey DJ Clean, its a crazy track too! So shout out to him... I'll post the finished product soon enough :)

The only thing better than an invention...is the reinvention...My blog revamps as my life does

I am pleased to have my new blog, it feels so much more vibrant!

My friend told me the other day that I sound so pissed in my blog and it just so happen as I was looking through my blog posts earlier that day I felt the same way! Like an angry little black girl or something...and I had to ask myself " is that really who I am?" and if so, "how can I change that... ASAP!"

My friends certainly wouldn't describe me that way, but I know that just changing a few colors on my blog wouldn't do the entire trick either, so I've been doing a tad bit of soul searching this past week, and did some activities out of this neat little book entitled The 5 Book Where will you be five years from today? by Dan Zadra. It's truly awesome and it really stimulated me mentally, physically, and emotionally. It allowed me to view facets in my life differently as well as relight the flames in others. My approach to everything is definitely altered and I like it! I think you will to.

So from now on, I'll be posting in the respective areas in the tabs, as time progresses, I imagine more of those popping up. The general area will direct you to what my hands are in that day. :)

NBC new Sitcom "Outsourced" ...This is some str8 bull**it...

I've been gone for a minute with the "wees!" and woes of the world, but I'm back now...maybe I'll get back to them in a post, maybe I won't, either way I would like to touch on NBC's "more colorful" approach to their fail...I mean Fall season line up :)

I was watching television, which is something I hardley ever do ( and this is one of the reasons why), but this commercial for this sitcom "Outsource" reared it's ugly head and I was appalled! Like how could you possible make a joke, and TV series at that, about outsourcing, when we're still in an economic downturn and outsourcing was the solution for many major and minor companies but proved to be a direct issue of displacement to Americans due to the millions of lay offs?

Now those same Americans that NBC RELIES on for ratings are being subject to this blantant disregard to REAL life because they live in Tinsel Town... it's like a slap in the face. And as much as I would like to post the trailer to display the slapstick bafoonery, I'm afraid that the droplet of American patriotism that I do have won't allow me to give them anymore free publicity. That is all...

Comments STRONGLY encouraged on this one...

M. Night SHAM!...B/C that's what he did to one of the greatest cartoons ever made...

F-ing M. Night Shyamalan...He strikes....out... again!

Soooooo I love this cartoon Avatar: The Last Airbender on Nickalodeon, I've been watching it for several years now and it's ingenious in it's concept, so naturally when they said they were making it into a movie I was stoked! But when I found out that M. Night Shyamalan (Sixth Sense, The Village, Lady in the Water, Signs)...or whatever his name is, was directing it...it was like someone ran over my dog.

I believe this director set out to be the black sheep of Hollywood...seriously because every movie he's made, with the exception of Sixth Sense, was whack! He's like a one hit wonder trying to get that old thing back. His entire movies are the previews, everything else in between is filled with choppy scenes and cliff hanger endings. I just want to know who is on his team telling him "Yo this shit is hot man! The people are going to love this when they leave the theatre"...they have to be the ultimate "yes men"...I'm convinced.

And sure enough this guy trashed one of my fav cartoons man. Me and my homey knew something was up when everyone came out of the movie theatre with the "boo boo" face and one chick even said she wanted to get her money back. Truthfully, it was like a 7 on a scale of 1-10. Now don't get me wrong, Aang (Noah Ringer) had some serious moves, but this was so easy, the formula was there, it didn't even need to be tampered with at all! Aang should've been whipping more ass and the acting should've been better...bottom line. Sokka (Jackson Rathborne...who is this guy?) sucked...Katara (Nicole Peltz)was cool...I guess, and I was surprised to see Dev Patel (Slum Dog Millionaire) playing Prince Zuko...he probably should try to the ride the Slum Dog wave a little longer though.

And at the end when Shyamalan's name came on the screen a dude "booed"...and I joined in of course (hehe) I couldn't help it! :)Screw this guy man! *throws up hands and walks out the room *

The HighLights and the Low Lights, and the ISH we won't remember from the BET Awards 2010

Alright so I'm an entertainment journalist right, so it would be wise of me to put up a post of the Coon Awards 2010...I mean 2010 BET Awards :) Now valid that I don't really believe in anything BET stands for, watching the show last night and wildin' out on Twitter, I must say that it was better than I expected it to be. There were performances by Kanye, who didn't come down off his mountain during his opening act, but still killed it.
Alicia's prego self was grinding on top of a piano, Prince gave Trey Songz the screw face when Trey tried to sing one of his songs, and no one could understand Nicki as usual or her 5th Element Movie inspired outfit.

Highlights:

Hands down Chris Brown's Michael Jackson Tribute...I think that MJ was smiling in Heaven on this one ya'll...not a dry eye in the room, including Chris Brown's. Check it out below!

Prince Tribute done by Patti Labelle, Janelle Monae, Esperanza Spaudling, and Alicia Keys. These wonderful women murdered it! Patti kicked off them shoes and it was all over!

El Debarge even graced the stage, although random as hell, he proved to the audience that he still got those signature soprano pipes!

Jada Pinkett Legs- you couldn't tell she was 4 foot nothing with those short shorts and stilettos LEGS FOR DAYS! Beautiful!

Eminen's Performance-one of the hottest lyricist to touch a mic

T.I. came so strong on his performance, with Travis Barker on the drums...can't wait to get his album.

Fred Hammond, Yolanda Adams, Kim Burrel, and Kieara SHeard sing "Are you listeng" for the relief efforts in Haiti.

Queen Latifah's opening act, she straight clowned Swizz saying she hopes the baby looks like her mother, and calling out Usher for only dating women who have reached menopause. LOL Hilarious then she reminded everyone why her name begins with Queen by ripping a couple bars over Drake's "Forever" track.

Nia Long and Larenze Tate doing a throwback scene from "Love Jones".

Lowlights:

Rocsi and Terrence kissing and then f-ing up the presentation of the Viewer's Choice award...and I'm almost positive that the fan that was on stage with them had on a denim suit.

Trey Songz trying to sing one of Prince's songs. He should want to go hide under a rock after the face Prince gave him.

When Usher hit that one high note, other than he was good.

Prince's date.

Everyone's wardrobe choices...it was a frenzie of fashion faux paus! Everything from Rocsi's dress (both of them), to Derbra Lee's easter pink feather f-up, to Laura London's extra regular liquid leggings, to Monica's Bat Wings for shoulder pads to Carmello's cargo pants... I can go on and on and on.

Keyshia Cole's bangs. Still love her though :)

John Legends roller coaster of a hair line. Still love him too! Congrats on the Humanitarian award...Sidebar:... but can we raise $1.5 million for America?...last time I checked we were 1 oil spill, 1 recession, lowest unempolyment rate in years, 1 war, and 1 insubordinate general away from being a 3rd world country....just saying.

The ISH we won't remember:

Dirty Money's performance.

That Nicki Minaj tried to clown Lil' Kim...Nicki fall back you aint there yet boo...

Tyrese even graced the stage with a tribute to Teddy Pendergrass, it was good, but just not memorable.

Todd Bridges came out to say a couple kind words about Gary Coleman, and even threw in this little gem of ignorance "even when I was in jail they would say What you talking about Willis?". SMDH

Mike Epps ode to the 90's with his pager and Mecca jacket. Stupid.

None of the artists from Music Matters... because BET cut to commercial after the first 10 secs.

Any of those humanitarians who stood on display who weren't allowed to say anything while someone more famous spoke at the mic. I would like to, but I was more concerned as to why they set it up that way.

Those Travelista chicks...even though they got a sweet little gig going on.

Any of the 106th and Park pre-show performances...lackluster to say the least...with the exception of B.O.B.

Jeezy and Drake's performance surprisingly...I was sitting here like "damn they did perform huh?"

I'm sure there's more..I just can't remember the shit...if I miss anything in any of the categories... let me know in the comments below! :)

Having one of those" damn... why did that happen?" moments...

Sooo yeah that meeting I was supposed to have with the agent never happen...bugger(in my London accent).
He was flying into Atlanta and his flight was to touch down at 6pm. Six came, then 7:30pm...still no sign, I eventually hit him up at 8:30pm and that's when I got a text back saying his flight had been delayed and he was stuck in Chicago. So that was definitley a damper, but I always know that God doesn't make mistakes. It's actually a blessing for real, because it was such short notice when he asked to meet with me, I was scrambling around trying to get my songs together...I wasn't exactly prepared for the meeting to be honest<<< this is what I've come up with... hey whatever helps me sleep at night right?

My adventures and mis-adventures at the dentist

Dr. Edwards has got to be one of the coolest docs I've ever run into. This is him in my headphones since I was going to be awake during my second surgery I needed some tunes. You may or may not remember the first one about two months ago when I had all four of wisdom teeth pulled out...but it would be discovered later ( a month and half later to be exact) that a piece of my jaw bone was the culprit for my extended pain and suffereing from my extraction...that some how was missed by my original doc Dr. Jones.( Try to give the business to black folk, but you see they don't act right...just saying) I mean it was miserable! And I still actually have that piece of my bone as a "keepsake" as Dr. Edwards called it...but anyway he saved my face because if it was left in there any longer they would had to go into my jaw from the outside...thus scarring my pretty little face...I know it sounds vain..but come on have you seen my face? LOL

Lately....

Soooo I won't lie, I've been cracking under pressure a little, not enough to break but enough to constantly be wiping the sweat from my brow. It seems as though I have almost completly neglected my editorial duties for my music...which is not a total bad thing, but it does prove to be an issue when you're getting emails from one of your many editors asking "where you been Brittany? Haven't heard from you in a while..."

It's true though...I've been M.I.A and strategizing my plan of attack. I've been locking myself in my room and trying to complete a song a day like Dolly Parton or pulling a Kanye "lock ya' self in a room for three summers" ( Throw back "Drop Out, ooooh the irony)...I don't presume that it will take that long...at least I hope not. Maybe one of these days I will get back to my journalistic feats, but at this present moment, I can't make any promises...(sorry)

It's not all in vain though that's for damn sure...I got a meeting with an agent this evening about my work...but get this: he wants to try to develop me as an artist. That might tickle someone else's fancy, but I got to tell ya', being in the limelight is not quite my thing, I'd rather be in the background...like a Diane Warren. You're probably like who is that? My point exactly. You don't know her, but trust you word her lyrics if you listen to Celine Dion, Toni Braxton, any of those American Idol kids, Debarge...the lists goes on and on and on. Multiple winner of ASCAP Songwriter of year award. I believe that's my niche, either way we'll see what this dude is talking about tonight. Here'e to over turning stones no matter what they look like from an aerial view...

I wrote this a while ago and the fact that Starbucks is getting free wi-fi nationwide made me think about this ...I know, weird word association...

"THE PROBLEM WITH BEING HIGH IN THE BOOKSTORE"

The problem with being blowed and taking a trip to Barnes & Nobles is that your super paranoid and aware of everything.I convinced myself this was a good idea at home with writers block, but now that I'm sitting here without an outlet to plug up my short-lifed laptop...thinking I could've had a V-8 instead. When I'm first walking in, its like they stop me right at the door with their bargains sells. Knowing good and damn well that I don’t have money to even indulge in a bargain of any kind, as being a writer is up there in the “starving artists” category…you know, creative careers. I skim through a dead on interest cover for $9.98. Only skim tho, because I’m quickly reminding myself that’s not what I’m here for. I continue in, trying NOT to look high, but unfortunately looking anything but…

Now here’s the first challenge. Trying to find the proverbial “perfect spot “ like so many others who are too in hopes of writing the next New York Times best seller, and out of all them I wonder who will actually succeed, myself included. Peeping around every corner like inspector gadget looking for an electric outlet that won’t have me causing a hazard through the aisles, but still serve a sense of comfortability. It’s tough man. Browsing pass individuals, holding a look a tad longer for some, hoping they can’t tell if I'm high or not because I didn’t do “the check” before I got out of the car.

“None in the back, damn.” “ Guess I gotta sit in the Starbucks café”, and that sucks because no one wants to sit in the café. The seats are hard, you can hear the revving of the espresso machine, and everyone is in within arm’s reach. It’s a drag. I do a quick scan and then aimlessly walk until I see an empty chair, because at this point the comfortability factor no longer exists. This process is reminiscent of the 80’s arcade game Frogger, because while you think everyone is into their laptops and manuscripts, they’re actually still looking for a better spot to sit in, and every so often you’re a millisecond too late and they hop up and grab a seat right in front of you that you can’t believe you missed. I let out a quiet “damn” as this happens, but this means their seat is open, but you now I have to sit next the table of giddy, naïve high school cheerleaders gabbing about “The Hills”. Now you know why the other lady moved in the first place.

I try to settle in and accept my fate, but in true Frogger fashion , I do a final scan, and I wonderfully noticed an open spot against the wall where I can “peer” out into the room. I quickly gather my things as I have to move quick or else someone else will snatch it up. That’s when the embarrassing” race to the chair” scene comes into play, and if you lose, the walk of shame is tragic, especially if someone had eyed balled you when got up, and then you’re really shit out of luck and back at square one.

So we rapping now?

Yeah I actually do this ISH! :) Let me give this disclaimer: I AM NOT TRYING TO BE A RAPPER...BUT I would love to write some verses and songs for them :) In order to do that I have to put my stuff out there so people can hear, plus I'm doing a mixtape with the compilation of my songs done by underground artists in Atlanta... very exciting! So I went to my homie Gabe's house to lay down some potential songs and verses. I like to have all my stuff together before I go into the DUI studio cause that time is not cheap ok! But this is me doing a little verse over Ludacris's "My Chick Bad"...here's to shooting for the stars!

MIA Bound or M.I.A. Bound?

Alright so it's been a minute since I've posted last. That trip to New Orleans and Houston was killer and I tricked myself into believing that I was made for this road life ISH by taking a "moonlighting" media assignment to go to Miami for the Memorial Day Weekend. I went so far as to drive to my old stomping ground, Tallahassee, Fl to meet up with my ride. The object of the whole trip was to go down and get some backstage footage from the Best of the Best concert series. I was told we had the media passes, I lined up a media outlet and everything...I get down here..the plans changed...WTF? I don't like shiftiness like that...I'm one of those "Say what you mean...mean what you say " kind of gals. So I listen to my gut and pulled out at the last minute. As I get older I'm learning to do that more because, yeah I would've had a good time regardless because that's the place to be right now, but I would've come home empty handed with nothing to produce for my outlet...I'm a freelancer...that is how I get paid! So I stuck to my guns cause' I personally don't believe in putting out money with none coming in...that's basic economics right there and code of the street....but why am I still in Tallahssee contemplating a day trip to little Cuba? Hence the question MIA bound or Missing In Action bound...decisions decisions and if someone else says "You only live once" to me again...Imma! Imma! I'm probably going to go! LOL

Buddhist Monks & Hand Granades?

I told you this was going to be a trip for the books! But before I get into that, I must break the bad news that I didn't get the call back from Truth...but I'm cool I'm cool. *tear* but while I was on my trip I was accompanied by a fellow Truth candidate, my new buddy DJ Clean...CONGRATS to him for getting to the third round! Crazy thing is we didn't know each other had applied until after the trip...small world.

The header is definiteley an oxymoron, much like my life, but true nonetheless. New Orleans was nuts! Bourban Street was full of life and my homie Brashaad was insistent on getting these frozen drinks called Hand Granades. If you don't know what's in a Hand Granade, much like the group I was with, it contains rum, gin, vodka, grain alcohol, and melon liquer (JFGI-Just fucking Google It) Needless to say, I would be seeing that same mixture a couple of hours later along with the Crawfish Patties I ingested at Bourbon O...great going down, but coming back up...not so much.

Funky 54 is where the body shots took place, I would post those pics but they're rather sexually charged and people got significant others and ish, so we'll keep those for the "personal collection" Check out "The Morning After" below:

Now the whole purpose of us getting on the road was to go to Houston, TX. N.O. was just for kicks. We attended Master Chin's birthday celebration. Master Chin is a gifted Buddhist Monk who specializes in spiritual advisory. We were embraced by his culture with open arms, even having a VIP table prepared for us that was filled with fruits and water. Mind you Master Chin didn't know were coming, at least that's what we thought until he approached us and said "I knew you were coming"...this is when the Twilight music began. Here's the beginning of the ceremony:

After the night of bullet and stab wound riddled strippers, which seems to be the chart topping occupation of the women we encountered in Houston. We had our reading done by Master Chin. The continuation of the Twilight music picks up here. Now Mr. Chin doesn't take money, but he takes donations, he doesn't use Tarot cards or anything, he genuinely looks as though he's channeling something divine. I walked in and immediatley he's telling me "would you just relax" probably b/c I'm visibly wided eyed and bushy tailed at this point.

He tells me a great deal without me disclosing anything. I won't go into everything he told me, but when he said that my career was going to be good around 28-29, I had to know what I was going to be doing, he says " You'll be working in the entertainment industry...singing and writing." Like I said, this dude doesn't know me from a can of paint...with that, I'm going to be in the lab so hard, it doesn't make any sense! Here's to following your dreams! This weekend is going to be one for the books!

So in true busy "B" fashion, I am on my way out of town to both New Orleans and Houston with my friend Brashaad Mayweather, who is currently and successfully producing a TV show entitled the "Mayweather Live Show".Brashaad did the videography for one of my Essence Of Artistry art shows in Tallahassee (see my youtube channel) His show he says, is to educate the public about issues that are concerns, but not neccessarily spoken about on a large scale. Check it out by clicking the header!

Always love to hear when my people are doing well! And we have so much that we're getting into on this trip! but I'd rather show you than tell you...stay tuned!

Sooo I'm always a busy little "B" and always keeping my ear to the wire for positions that beat a cubicle and where I can use the right side of my brain, so I applied for truth® 2010, you know the marketing juggernaunt of a campaign that piled body bags outside of the headquarters of a major tobacco company...yeah them... for a crew member position for their summer tour, which may include stops at Afro Punk Festival, Hot 97 summer jam, VANS Warped tour while promoting an ever present social issue

...basically just alot of great ISH ok :) This is even more rewarding for me, because I've actually flirted with the nasty habit and have quit, so this is super special. What a way to celebrate taking your life back you know? I did the video submission which I've posted below, which was a lot of fun with Jon,my cuzo, and his crew, over at Charles David Productions...SHOUT OUTS!!!

I got a call from GTM Central (whom by the way are the SHIT! check out their website @www.gtmcentral.com) who is heading up the campaign yesterday! The first thing they said was that they liked my video alot lol

I Did the phone interview which was nerve racking as hell. I was on speaker phone with a room full of people, not knowing whose voice belonged to what name. I'm not sure how I did really, I was just an overly nervous, extra high spirited version of myself. So I'll find out May 14 if they're going to invite me to New York for second round interviews. Crossed fingers and toes!

The other funny part is that I actually wasn't going to apply at first. I saw the ad, but let the original April deadline pass because I was being a punk, but then I saw it again and they extended it to May 6th, so I figured "I gotta do this now, I'd be a fool not too", and really the worst that could happen is they say "no"...and I've heard that before...it never really bothered me much. :)
